Oyster Point Marina Plaza

Tenant Handbook

Elevators

Each building is equipped with three (3) passenger only elevator cars and one (1) freight/passenger elevator car. Oyster Point Marina Plaza’s elevators, annually, are inspected and properly permitted for operation by the State of California Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH).

Emergencies

(Inoperable/Stalled or Stuck car)

A hands-free emergency telephone is located in each elevator car, directly below the elevator control panel, which is connected directly to the elevator maintenance company’s 24-hour dispatch service. For major problems you may push the button, and wait for an operator to respond who can assist you.

DO NOT use the red emergency button to hold the elevator. If the elevator should stop between floors, check that this has not been accidentally depressed.

In the event elevator has stalled between floors, STAY CALM and press the emergency call button. The elevator company will dispatch a technician and notify the Building Management Office so that an engineer can also respond. Please note that for liability reasons, building management, engineering, or security cannot assist or provide extraction from a stuck or stalled elevator, only the Elevator Maintenance Company or Fire Department can perform such an operation.

Elevators are not to be used during a building emergency, such as Fire or Earthquake. Instead, please proceed to the nearest Emergency Exit stairwell to properly exit the building.

Freight Elevator

Each building’s freight elevator is engineered and designed to be slightly larger and have a greater capacity for transporting heavier items. Tenants are to use the freight elevator (only) when bringing items or materials in or out of the building. Thus allowing the remaining three (3) elevators to be for passenger use. In accordance with Building Rules and Regulations, all large or bulky deliveries are to be scheduled in advance with the management office; this ensures the appropriate reservation of the freight elevator, delivery entrance, and coordination delivery times with both management and tenants.

Before and After-hours, the freight/passenger elevator is the only elevator that operates and its access is limited or restricted to Key Fob use only.

Please report any issues or problems with the elevators to the Management Office.
